The aim of this session is to give you a good foundation in the knowledge and skills essential for safe and enjoyable paddling.

During the lesson you will learn about: kayak equipment, kayak design and what to wear, as well as how to maneuver your kayak (forward, reverse, side ways, turning and steering) support strokes and how to recover from a capsize.

The session is 2 hours long and will involve paddling approx. 3.5 km

This training was set up for The Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race is an event where teams of four women travel together in a team, navigating with map and compass around a secret course on foot, mountain bike, and kayak.

However, it is good for any adventure race the involves kayaking on sit on top kayaks.
