• Employment

A passion for the outdoors is a requisite for employment at Auckland Sea Kayaks. Our staff are all highly qualified and experienced in a variety of different adventure activities. They are fun, friendly and above all, safety conscious.

A lot of hard work has got these skilled guides to where they are now, if you think you’ve got what it takes to join our team please send your cover letter and CV with your qualifications to nic@aucklandseakayaks.co.nz

All adventure activities involve inherent risk of harm. The degree of risk varies among activities and locations. Auckland Sea Kayaks takes all practicable steps to manage the risks and deliver adventure activities safely while keeping alive the sense of adventure and excitement.

To protect the health and safety of staff and participants engaged in adventure activities, and to protect New Zealand’s reputation as a world-leading provider of adventure activities, the Government introduced regulations in 2011 to ensure operators have sound safety management systems in place.

The current regulations are the Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016. They were made under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, which is referred to as HSWA. The regulations require commercial operators who provide adventure activities, as defined by the regulations, to pass safety audits and become registered by WorkSafe New Zealand (WorkSafe).

Epic views from the summit of Rangitoto Island yesterday. #nzbucketlist
A few lucky guests this weekend got to kayak past @seashepherdnz's Allankay — currently moored at Wynyard Quarter after a mission in the Antarctic.

This ship has been exposing the impacts of industrial krill supertrawlers, whose nets drag through whale feeding grounds and threaten entire ecosystems.

Krill may be tiny, but they’re the heartbeat of Antarctic wildlife — whales, penguins, seals, everything.
Huge respect to the crew working to protect this fragile corner of the planet.
Seacave season is upon us. #nzbucketlist
Bioluminescence is kinda other worldly. Remind us of kayaking through space...
Bioluminescence season is here… and honestly, it’s giving full Christmas magic.

POV - the sun sets and the city lights up. Prettiest view in Auckland.
It’s that time of year when cars around Auckland are decked out with Tongan and Sāmoan flags — so why not the kayaks too? These ladies were proudly supporting Toa Sāmoa on their City Lights Kayak Tour!
