Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award
Auckland Sea Kayaks has a strong reputation for delivering, developing and monitoring young adults through this personal and individual challenge.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award introduces young people to exciting, positive, challenging and enjoyable things to do in their free time. Sea Kayaking is a great way to fulfil the requirements for the expeditions and we have worked with many schools to achieve this is a friendly, safe and professional manner. We do this by allowing the participants the freedom to achieve their goals in a safe and monitored fashion.
Our guides are very experienced and skilled sea kayakers with a personal commitment and passion for conservation and kayaking. Their knowledge of the area, understanding of the weather systems, educational training and knowing the requirements for this award will make your journey enjoyable and safe.
We have worked with many schools in the Upper North Island. This is what a few say about working with us.
Sarah Bell, St Mary’s College, Ponsonby “It was very reassuring to know that the students were in such capable hands. I hope they behaved themselves well enough for you to consider running another trip for us in the future!”
Michael Edwards, Leader of Curriculum Physical Education, Melville High School “From my outdoor background and dealing with numerous outdoor providers over the years, I can honestly say that Auckland Sea Kayaks approach to safety is of an exceptional standard.
