Sea kayak guide required for 2018/19 season

We require a proactive and passionate person to work for Auckland Sea Kayaks who share a similar passion for preserving and improving the natural environment, educating our guests and giving them an experience of a lifetime.

Auckland Sea Kayaks is an environmentally friendly business, taking advantage of the Hauraki Gulf’s natural wonder while seeking to improve it. The philosophy of the company is based around protecting, enhancing and educating our guests about our environment.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Proficient sea kayak skills and up to a level of a NZOIA sea kayak as a minimum
  • Valid first aid certificate. Minimum 16 hour wilderness first aid or equivalent for ½ day – day tours and sunset tours. A more advanced first aid certificate will be beneficial for overnights and expeditions
  • VHF radio operator certificate 
  • Day Skippers  Certificate 
  • Full drivers licence with experience driving with trailers
  • Logged commercial and personal sea kayak trips
  • Education: Degree/Diploma/Certificate in outdoor education or equivalent
  • An enthusiastic attitude

Stunning morning with flat water as we got set up for another @emr_nz day. Loads of locals learning about how amazing Lake Rototoa is. For those that don't about this amazing sand dune fresh water lake which is located at the northern end of the south head of the Kaipara Harbour should go and check it out. Or even better wait until EMR runs another of their legendary experience days @visitauckland
