Sea kayak guides for a marine protected environment required

Auckland Sea Kayaks is one of Auckland’s leading tourism companies operating within the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.

We are seeking exceptional sea kayak guides / operation who are able to act as an Ambassadors for Auckland, NZ and have a passion for the Hauraki Gulf.

Due to the continued strong growth of our company, we are looking for sea kayakers who are customer-service minded to enhance our team and provide second to none, high quality experiences. The right person will all assist with marketing / promotion and take on a leading role with the operations of the company.

If successful you are required to start in October 2014 with in-depth training to ensure our very high standards of quality are maintained.

Applicants must be mature, loyal, reliable, honest, have a friendly and dynamic personality, have excellent communication skills, be adaptable, have excellent organisational skills and be really passionate about Auckland and NZ.

This opportunity is on a contract basis for this coming summer season. We require a degree of flexibility, since we operate in an environment where bookings may come at short notice.

Guides – requirements:

Have held a spotless NZ Drivers Licence for a minimum of 2 years.
Hold a current First Aid Certificate
Know how to have fun
You MUST be willing and able to work at weekends and public holidays when required, especially in high season;
Proficient sea kayak skills and up to a level of a SKOANZ sea kayak guide
An excellent knowledge of and passion for Auckland and NZ is essential.
Excellent and clear command of the English language is essential
A great work ethic, reliability, punctuality and flexibility are a must in our company;
Excellent English language skills, while foreign language ability would be a great bonus. Public speaking experience is preferred but not essential;
You are a permanent resident of New Zealand, or of course you are an NZ Citizen;
