Tapapakanga Sea Kayak Campsite

Tapapakanga Sea Kayak Campsite

This Sea Kayak Campsite is on the Te Ara Moana – Auckland Sea Kayak trial. Located at the southern end of the park, the campground has flat, undulating teraces. The site features a beautiful Tarire Grove. The camp group is part of a larger coastal farm park, Tapapakanga has a rich Maori and European history and offers an accessible, pohutukawa edged beach on the western shores of the Firth of Thames. The Tapapakanga Stream winds its way through the park.

Is accessible by the sea and the landing at high tide is good however stony and rocky at low tide. There is a good area to leave your kayak above high tide mark on the southern end of the beach under the Pohutukawa tree.

This camp site costs

Adult: $6.00 18 years and over
Child: $4.00 5 – 17 years
Infant: $0.00 Under 5 years

The Auckland council claims there is no cell phone coverage however on my Vodafone I had 3G / good reception.
