Riverhead ‘Paddle to the Pub’

Gather up the whole office and cruise together with our Riverhead ‘Paddle to the Pub’ kayak trip. This is a self-guided, very scenic, sheltered journey, making it a perfect trip for a group of friends or colleagues. The kayak has varied scenery and is perfect for novice kayakers.

The acclaimed “Paddle to the Pub” kayak trip departs from Herald Island. Maps and full safety briefings are provided before clients make their way to the Historic Riverhead Tavern. For Christmas parties, food can be pre ordered from the Riverhead Tavern or guests can just order their own meal when they arrive.

Trip times vary based on the tide and can be run at lunchtime, after work or over the weekends.

Motukorea (Browns Island) Twilight Tour

Bring your workmates on our Motukorea Browns island kayak twilight tour. It ticks all of your outdoor-loving adventure boxes.

A favourite amongst those in the know, Browns Island (also known as Motukorea) is only accessible by private craft and is one of the best-preserved volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field. This trip is suitable for small or large group sizes, includes a full BBQ dinner and we are able to cater for all dietary requirements.

Located to the south of Rangitoto Island and Motutapu Island, Browns Island provides gorgeous views back towards the city. Best of all, because you’ll be the only ones there, it will be impossible to do anything but relax and enjoy the stunning scenery that Hauraki Gulf Marine Park is so well-known for.

  • How fit do I need to be?

    A medium level of fitness is required. You will be kayaking for approximately 1 hour each way.

  • Is there a minimum age?

    There is no minimum age for these trips. Please contact us to discuss individual requirements.

  • How much kayaking experience do I need?

    These tours are set up for someone who has no kayaking experience. Your guide runs over paddling techniques before heading out onto the sea and gives you tips while paddling.

  • Do you have a price indication per person?

    Our groups tours start at a price of $85 per person.

  • How big or small can the groups be?

    We can cater for groups from 4 people up to groups of 40 people.

What you need to bring

What is provided?
We kit you out with all the specialist paddling gear including buoyancy aid, spray skirt, spray jacket, thermals and a dry bag for your camera. Kayaking is a water sport and you will get a little wet while kayaking.
What to bring?

  • Camera
  • Water bottle
  • Sun protection
  • T-shirt (No Cotton)
  • Shorts or leggings to kayak in (No Cotton).
  • Sun glasses and hat
  • Sport shoes or hiking sandals such as Chaco’s. Flip-flops, jandals and
    slip on shoes are not suitable.
