By making a booking, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Cancellations by Auckland Sea Kayaks
Auckland Sea Kayaks reserves the right to cancel or modify any tour due to road, water, or weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.
If we cancel a tour prior to departure, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to reschedule.
If a tour is already in progress, guides may adjust the itinerary for safety reasons at their discretion.
Auckland Sea Kayaks is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants due to a cancellation.
These terms are subject to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 2003.
Cancellations by the Client
FIT (Free Independent Traveller) Bookings
Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Cancellations
Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to departure will receive a refund less a 25% administration fee.
No refunds apply if:
- You cancel within 48 hours of departure
- You fail to arrive for your booking (no-show)
- You miss the departure time for any reason (including illness, delays, or personal circumstances)
Agents, Schools, Groups & Cruise Bookings
Payment Terms
- Schools and large group bookings require a 25% deposit to confirm the booking
- Contracted agents/resellers are invoiced after the tour and must be paid within 30 days (unless otherwise agreed)
Minimum Numbers
- Cruise bookings require a minimum of 6 participants
Cancellations
For cancellations 7-14 days prior to departure:
- 25% cancellation fee applies
- Date changes may be permitted with prior written agreement
For cancellations 7 days prior to departure:
- 50% cancellation fee applies
Within 48 hours of departure:
- No refund
No refunds apply if:
- Participants do not arrive (no-show)
- Bookings are cancelled within 48 hours of departure
General Conditions
Third-Party Services
Auckland Sea Kayaks is not responsible for third-party services, including ferry transport or accommodation. Where included in tour pricing (e.g. Rangitoto ferry tickets), these are non-refundable once booked.
Pricing
- Group booking rates apply only to bookings made directly with Auckland Sea Kayaks
- Bookings made via third-party platforms or resellers are not eligible for direct group pricing
Risk Disclosure
Sea kayaking and camping involve inherent risks. While Auckland Sea Kayaks maintains strict safety procedures, an element of risk remains.
Auckland Sea Kayaks accepts its legal responsibilities but cannot guarantee participants’ safety and is not liable for personal injury or loss, theft, or damage to personal equipment beyond those responsibilities. Participants are required to sign a liability waiver before the tour.
Conditions may change, and tours may be modified. In rare cases, weather may delay return times by up to 24 hours.
Participants must follow all guide instructions and safety requirements at all times.
Restrictions
To ensure safety, the following requirements apply:
Physical Requirements:
Participants must weigh no more than 120 kg and fit safely into kayaks (seat width 65 cm). Guides must be able to assist participants in the event of a capsize.
Endurance:
Participants must be able to sit and paddle for up to 45 minutes without breaks.
Language:
All tours are conducted in English. Participants must be able to understand and follow safety instructions.
Personal Privacy
Personal information is used only to deliver our services and will not be shared except as required by New Zealand law.
Photography and Video
Auckland Sea Kayaks may take photographs and video during tours for promotional and operational purposes.
By booking, you consent to this use unless you notify us in writing before your tour.
Media is stored securely and retained for up to 12 months before being deleted or anonymised.
